Blue Springs State Park

Blue Springs State Park in Cilo offers camper cabins and modern and primitive campsites in a wooded, rural setting near its centerpiece swimming hole, which is the perfect place to cool off in Alabama’s summer heat. The Black Belt camping park is just as welcoming year-round for anyone looking to slow down and enjoy some peace and quiet in a pretty natural environment.

Chewacla State Park

Choose your style of Black Belt camping, and Chewacla State Park is bound to have it. The 696-acre park has RV camping with full hookups, cabins, a group camp area, and primitive camping. The park is just a short drive from the Auburn-Opelika area and includes a 26-acre lake, swimming area, playground, picnic areas with tables, grills, and shelters, and hiking and mountain biking trails.

Chickasaw State Park

This 520-acre roadside park is tucked away along U.S. 43 in rural Marengo County. It includes a few modern RV campsites and primitive camping opportunities, a wading pool, rental pavilions, playground equipment, and plenty of green space. Chickasaw State Park is perfect for family gatherings or as a base camp for your Black Belt camping adventure.

Lakepoint State Park

Alabama Black Belt camping opportunities abound at Lakepoint Resort State Park, located on the banks of the 45,000-acre Lake Eufaula, also known as “The Bass Capital of the World.” There are 192 improved RV sites, some with full hookups, plus a lodge and a variety of cabins and cottages. The park has plenty to enjoy, including an 18-hole championship golf course, full-service restaurant and lounge, marina, hiking trails, modern campground, swimming complex, tennis courts, playgrounds, convention, and meeting facilities.

Paul M. Grist Park

Paul M. Grist Park has 11 RV sites with full hookups and primitive sites for tent camping. The centerpiece of this beautiful 1,080-acre park in Dallas County, near Selma, is a 100-acre lake. Black Belt camping visitors enjoy the lake’s relaxing atmosphere, which offers fishing, paddling, and swimming. The picnic area includes barbecue grills and pavilions for family reunions, birthday parties, and other special events. Approximately 15-20 miles of hiking trails offer excursions into the surrounding forest.

Roland Cooper State Park

Hugging the shore of the 22,000-acre Dannelly Reservoir, Roland Cooper features a nine-hole golf course with clubhouse, vacation cottages, modern campground, and a scenic picnic area with tables, grills, pavilions and comfort station. The fishing on this reservoir, also known as Millers Ferry, offers some of the best fishing in southwest Alabama. With ample populations of game fish in the lake, anglers should be pleased with their chances of landing a keeper. The Black Belt camping park also provides boat launching facilities and hosts fishing tournaments throughout the year.
