Alabama Nature Center & NaturePlex

The Alabama Nature Center and NaturePlex, housed on the grounds of Lanark and home to the Alabama Wildlife Federation, is an outdoor education facility offering hands-on, outdoor-based educational programs and activities for students, educators, church and civic groups, and the public. A variety of programs focused on the natural history and biodiversity of Alabama’s landscape are offered throughout the year.

Montgomery Zoo & Mann Wildlife Museum

The zoo’s residents include over 500 animals from five different continents, all housed in natural, barrier-free habitats as well as some of the world’s most exotic snakes and reptiles. The zoo spans over 40 beautifully landscaped acres, offering you a magnificent view of exotic wildlife and endangered species by a leisurely stroll or a ride on the miniature train.

Alabama Safari Park

Interact with animals through a variety of ways safely from your vehicle while exploring the 350-acre drive-thru adventure, on foot in the village walk-about, up close when feeding the giraffes on the giraffe tower, or in the petting area where you will find all of your farmyard favorites. Feeding the giraffes or sharing your ice cream with a bison will surely bring on the giggles!
