STS Marketing College Scholarship Application

For the past three years the Alabama Black Belt Adventures Association has sponsored an individual (residing in the Black Belt region and employed in a tourism related field) to attend the Southeast Tourism Society’s Marketing College. We are now taking applications and will be choosing a new recipient who’ll have the opportunity of learning from the industry’s best tourism industry professionals.

This week-long program, set for May 12-17, 2019, teaches attendees relevant techniques for marketing their destinations, including the latest trends and how to apply them in the real world. The student who attends Marketing College for the three-year (one week per year) program will earn Travel Marketing Professional (TMP) certification.

Here’s a note from Ann Sparks, the most recent scholarship recipient, who completed her three years last May:

I had always heard how valuable Marketing College was, and now I know.  Since our last year I have already put in motion several things that I learned.  Rack card importance and what visitors are looking for – We have three in the works, “Snow Globe”, people are looking for a snow globe experience – a tourism team is being initiated, Hospitality Committee – in process.  STS gave me the confidence and skills to bring Eufaula’s game to a higher level!  Ann Sparks, Director of Main Street, Eufaula, AL
